We’ve got some news of our own to share — our work was featured on STV News!
The report followed Highland charities and volunteers supporting communities in Ukraine, and we were proud to be part of it. It showed how ReTech, our project here at Highlands Innovation, takes outdated computers, gives them a full second life, and gets them to the people who need them most.
This time that meant 12 refurbished Chromebooks reaching schoolchildren in Ukraine — a reminder that a device one person no longer needs can open a whole new world for a child somewhere else.
For us, this is personal. Our founders came to Scotland after being forced to leave Ukraine in 2022, and giving back to the communities they left behind is at the heart of what we do. As the team shared on camera, when the tech reached children with disabilities, one of the people who helped coordinate it “cried over the phone because of how much it meant for them.” Moments like that are why we keep going.
